A Paw Above Pet Sitting Service officially began business in September, 2002. My wife and I recently purchased the business and are extremely excited about how this business has grown. The previous owners of A Paw Above Pet Sitting Service did a superb job in developing the core processes essential in making this business a true turnkey operation.

Prior to purchasing this business, we spent a great deal of time researching the topic of pet sitting. For example, what is pet sitting all about, how does it differ from similar services currently offered at kennels and boarding facilities, and what growth potential is there in the Colorado Springs and surrounding areas? We discovered a trend developing for at-home pet care services based on three factors. 1) Americans love their pets. As part of our start-up process we joined Pet Sitters International, "the world's largest and most progressive organization for professional pet sitters" (Pet Sitters International New Member Booklet). Membership in this organization means we agree to act professionally and follow the PSI's Recommended Quality Standards for Excellence in Pet Sitting. A copy of this may be found on the PSI website by clicking on the Pet Sitters International logo at the bottom of our homepage. Our insurance was purchased through Pet Sitters International with Royal Surplus Lines Insurance Company. A copy of our insurance certificate will be provided upon request.

In November 2002 we joined the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce. We regularly attend their Networking Clinics and Business after Hours meetings. It is our hope that, by becoming active members of reputable organizations, we are assuring our customers of our trustworthiness and our desire to make this business flourish.
